Philanthropic investment is a special and important support for the programs and healthcare providers at Phelps Hospital. Through the generosity of hundreds of individuals, individuals, foundations and businesses, Phelps has been able to develop creative new initiatives and acquire vital resources that address the unique health needs of our community.
Gifts made to Phelps have always supported the exceptional programs and people you have come to know and rely on. If you make a gift to Phelps, you can be assured that 100% of your investment helps enhance care right here in our community.
Examples of how our patients and our community have directly benefited from donor support include:
- Thanks to donor support, Phelps’ renowned Hoch Center for Emergency Education and the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps (OVAC) have formed a unique collaboration, providing access to extensive training resources and facilities and lifesaving equipment to local emergency responders.
- Through the generosity of two generations of a family (including a special bequest gift), the Donald R. Reed Speech and Hearing Center has expanded into new professional areas, incorporate the latest technologies, and provided services to an increased number of patients who are referred to the Center.
- In memory of her husband, a donor provided a generous grant to fund a pilot program that is testing the feasibility and impact of telehealth medicine.
- A long-time supporter gives annually to Phelps Hospice, helping this program expand and develop initiatives like a new palliative care program that focuses on adults who are living with serious illnesses.
