Paying for Your Care
Phelps Memorial Hospital Center is a participating provider in many health insurance plan networks. Click here for a list of insurance plans accepted by the hospital. Some health plans use smaller networks for certain products they offer, so it is important to check whether Phelps participates with your specific plan.
It is also important for you to know that fees for the physician services you receive in the hospital are not included in the hospital’s bill. Some physicians providing services at the hospital are independent voluntary physicians and some are employed by the hospital. Physicians issue bills for their services separately and may, or may not, participate in the same health plans as the hospital. You should check with the physician arranging your hospital services to determine which plans that physician participates in.
Physicians employed by the hospital are part of a group called Phelps Medical Associates (PMA). Click here for a list of plans accepted by Phelps Medical Associates physicians.
Phelps Memorial Hospital Center contracts with a number of physician groups, such as anesthesiologists and radiologists, to provide services at the hospital. Contact information for these groups is as follows: Anesthesiology – Westchester Anesthesiologists (visit www.wcanesthesia.com); Radiology – Northwell Health Physician Partners (call (855) 571-5843). You should contact these groups directly to find out which health plans they participate in.
You should also check with the physician arranging your hospital services to determine whether you will require services of any other physicians for your care. Your physician can provide you with the name, practice name, mailing address and telephone number of any physicians whose services may be needed.
Hospitals are required by law to make available information about their standard charges for the items and services they provide. This information is available by calling our Financial Assistance office at (914) 366-3113.
If you do not have health insurance, you may be eligible for assistance in paying your hospital bills. Click here for information about billing and financial assistance provided by Phelps, or you may contact our Financial Assistance Office at (914) 366-3113.
