We offer innovative radiation technology as part of your cancer treatment plan
Your dedicated cancer treatment team will develop a customized care plan for you, which may include radiation therapy and other treatments. Radiation therapy is an important part of cancer care, and our team at Phelps uses state-of-the-art methods to provide the best outcomes possible.
We are dedicated to patient safety and follow Smarter Radiation Oncology protocols, which include comparing your care to the latest studies, conducting peer reviews on each new patient’s care plan, and completing safety checklists prior to starting treatment.
The Phelps Hospital Department of Radiation Medicine is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
We offer a variety of radiation therapy services
Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
Despite the name, this is a nonsurgical therapy that delivers focused high doses of radiation and avoids the surrounding tissue. It is used to treat brain cancer and spinal tumors.
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
A type of external beam radiation therapy. It is used to treat bladder, head/neck, kidney, liver, lung, and pancreatic cancers.
Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
Uses a variety of imaging techniques, including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound, to help focus radiation beams more precisely. It is used to treat cancerous and noncancerous tumors, especially those in difficult or sensitive areas.
Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
Allows higher-dose beams of radiation to be delivered to tumors while lowering the dose to the surrounding tissue.
