Phelps Food & Wine Fest Boasts More than 20 Restaurants, a Beer Garden and More

Phelps Memorial Hospital Center will host the first Phelps Food & Wine Fest at Trump National Golf Club on Sunday, March 22, from 12 to 4 pm. Ticket price is $90 per person.  Guests will find elegant dining stations hosted by 20 fine local restaurants, complemented by selected wines and beers from around the world.  All proceeds from the event will benefit Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

Grape Expectations, the popular wine shop located on North Broadway in Tarrytown, will be providing all the wines served at the event.  “We are happy to support Phelps, the hospital that is so important to our community,” said owner John Sarofeen.  “We’re looking forward to presenting guests with a better understanding of their palates through an eclectic tasting experience and lots of conversation about the wines they are sampling.”

France, Spain, Italy, and California are all well known when it comes to the wine world. “Many regions and appellations like Bordeaux, Sonoma, Rioja, and Brunello have become synonymous with prestige and high quality,” says Sarofeen. “We will be showcasing those wines, in addition to many others from lesser known regions that are producing phenomenal wines.”

Another feature of the event will be a beer garden presented by Half Time, the world’s largest beer retailer, with stores in Mamaroneck and Poughkeepsie.  “We are proud to stock beers from 700 breweries in over 60 countries,” said Half Time owner Alan Daniels, “and proud to be supporting Phelps Hospital.”  Guests at the Food and Wine Fest will be able to enjoy a selection of international beers, as well as a Belgian waffle station, a Bavarian pretzel booth and Walter’s Famous Hot Dogs, a Mamaroneck specialty.

Waldy Malouf, Senior Director of Food & Beverage Operations at the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America, will prepare and serve three dishes from the CIA’s critically-acclaimed restaurants.

The event’s Gourmet Sponsor is TD Bank.  Additional sponsors are: BBL Construction Services, Gordon & Silber, PC, Robert Lane and Janine Guercio, M&T Bank, and Michael and Judith Sullivan.

Participating restaurants and food purveyors include 105 Ten Bar & Grill, Atria, Bistro Parisien, Bistro SK, Bridgeview Tavern, Casa Rina, Coffee Lab Roasters, Cooper’s Mill, Crabtree’s Kittle House, Elia Taverna, Forty North Kitchen and Bar, Goldfish, Great American BBQ, Hopscotch, Iron Horse Grill, Jean Jacques, Memphis Mae’s, Noma Social, Provisions Bake Shop, RiverMarket Bar and Kitchen, Trump National Golf Course, Posh Pretzels, Tarry Tavern and Sam’s of Gedney Way.
