Many seniors experience fear of falling, and it causes them to restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance, held on 8 consecutive Saturdays, emphasizes practical strategies to reduce this fear and increase activity levels by improving strength, balance and flexibility. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, and change their environment to reduce fall risk factors.
