Phelps has a rich history dedicated to the health of the Westchester County community and beyond

When Phelps opened in Sleepy Hollow, NY in 1956, it occupied a single building. Now our facility, with its 238 beds and over 2,000 employees, occupies a beautiful, tree-lined 69-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River. As a not-for-profit, acute care community hospital, we have consistently provided Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam county residents with the highest quality and most compassionate care. Whether inpatient or ambulatory, the services we provide combine the latest medical techniques with our strong tradition of caring.

Our Mission—We are a community of people caring for people

At Phelps Hospital, we are devoted to:

improving the health of our community through education, partnerships, and advocacy, regardless of the ability to pay;

sustaining an environment of excellence and compassion where medical, social and rehabilitative services are delivered efficiently and effectively;

educating our community and the professionals that work to achieve optimal health outcomes and quality of life;

striving to advance the professional excellence of our healthcare and support professionals, as well as our research initiatives;

providing quality, comprehensive care in a safe, modern environment where advanced medical techniques and effective management are combined to provide an indispensible community health resource.
