Volunteers
At Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, volunteers play a very important role in making the Hospital a more friendly and efficient place for patients, staff, and visitors. There are 200 active volunteers at Phelps. On an average day, 50 uniformed volunteers are on site, providing services in many areas, both administrative and patient-related.

Requirements
Members of the community who are at least 14 years of age and willing to give of their time and talents are invited to become a Phelps Volunteer. Volunteers are accepted without regard to age (if over 14 years), race, color, religion, national origin, sex or disability.
Before becoming a volunteer, you will be asked to complete an application, participate in a personal interview, and gain a medical clearance. Once accepted, you will attend an orientation to learn more about the hospital and undergo training in your service area. While performing volunteer services within the hospital, volunteers wear identification badges and uniforms.
