Hospitality Services

Hospitality Representatives visit patients many times each day, addressing basic needs, offering individualized attention and comfort care, and helping to make them feel less anxious about being hospitalized. They provide emotional support, a listening ear and whatever they can to ensure a patient’s stay is as comfortable as possible.

The program operates 7 days a week (6:30 am – 7:30 pm on hospital units; 7:30 am – 11:30 pm in the Emergency Department).

Hospitality Representatives visit nearly all inpatient units and conduct “meal rounds” in ICU.

Patients of several outpatient services also receive hospitality services, including Ambulatory Surgery, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the Infusion Center and the Wound Healing Institute.

A coffee and tea service for patients and visitors is brought to all hospital units on weekday afternoons. Comfort care is provided for the families of patients who are near the end of life.
