David Coulam Elected Chairman of Phelps Board of Directors
David Coulam of Croton was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Directors
of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center. A member of the Phelps Board for more than
12 years, Coulam has served on the Finance, Quality and Executive committees,
as well as many others. In 2007, he was elected chair of the Strategic Planning
Committee and he continues to serve in that capacity.
Coulam is currently a Managing Director Senior Advisor (MDSA) with Credit Suisse,
where he advises on matters related to global succession, strategic and business
planning, and organization and management development. Formerly, Coulam established,
owned and led a global leadership development and business consultancy, working
with executives, senior managers, managing directors and high-potential individuals.
His executive coaching experience spans 33 years.
Coulam has prior business experience and background in designing and implementing
comprehensive human resource development solutions that support corporate business
objectives in four firms: Credit Suisse First Boston, Merrill Lynch, Smith Corona
and Texaco. In addition, he had leadership responsibility at the University
of Michigan's School of Business Administration, Division of Management Education.
Coulam holds a BBA and MA from the University of Michigan.
