Geriatrics

Overview

The Senior Health Consultation Service, developed jointly with the Mount Sinai Department of Geriatrics, offers a comprehensive geriatric assessment focusing on the person as a whole. Written consultation and test results are provided so that patients can share them with their primary care physician. Continuity of care remains with each patient’s primary care physician. Patients who do not have a primary physician or who need a specialist can be referred to one of the excellent physicians on the Phelps Medical Staff. Medicare or other insurance is accepted on assignment as full reimbursement.

Memory Loss

A comprehensive assessment program for older individuals concerned about memory loss. Evaluation by a geriatrician is followed by in-depth memory testing by a neuropsychologist. Medical and psychological treatment is accompanied by referral to appropriate support services.
