Medical Services Building
Phelps will construct a second professional office building on its campus. The new 100,000-square-foot Medical Services Building, 5 stories high, will house the Outpatient Physical Rehabilitation department, which will be significantly expanded and will include a 20’ x 40’ aqua therapy pool. The new building will also house the Hospital’s Emergency Training Center, which has provided paramedic and first aid training to 25,000 first responders and others since the program began in 1984. In the new building, the Emergency Training Center will have spacious teaching space, including two classrooms and six skills labs. The building will also be the new location for the Wound Healing Institute, as well as physician offices.
The Master Plan also involves the expansion of the Hospital’s South Wing and a 750-space parking garage.
Construction is currently underway. Completion of the parking garage and Medical Services Building is expected in 2007, and the new Emergency Department is expected to open in 2008.
