(May 22, 2012) Rose Perri, RN, of Cortlandt Manor, Nursing Coordinator for the Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, has been re-appointed for a second 3-year term to the Nurse Advisory Panel for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) that provides expertise on nursing issues and their impact on chemical addiction and public policy. Perri’s re-appointment was announced by Angela Gonzalez-Sanchez, Commissioner of OASAS.

The Nurse Advisory Panel includes representatives from OASAS, the New York State Nursing Association, hospitals, addiction treatment centers, universities and non-profit organizations.

Perri has been Nursing Coordinator of the 42-bed Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit at Phelps since January 2003. The unit offers a 21-day inpatient rehabilitation program for adult patients with a dual diagnosis of mental illness combined with chemical addiction. Prior to her current position, Rose Perri has been a Registered Nurse at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center since 1985. She has held various staff nursing positions in the hospital including in the PACU (Recovery Unit), Telemetry Unit and the Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit. She resides in Cortlandt Manor with her husband and three daughters. Perri states, “It is a privilege and an honor, both personally and professionally, to have been chosen once again to represent nurses in Behavioral Health Services.”
